Was this inspired by Slipknot?

It’s a character from the movie Nightbreed, directed by Clive Barker (who was also behind Hellraiser). The movie, which is based on his book Cabal, came out in 1990 and became a cult classic, so actually it’s possible that this character actually inspired Slipknot a little; I definitely see the similarities.
